Year of Carl Update!
Sixteen years ago today, I moved into Carl's apartment and took over his life. I know there are days when he regrets this and days when he celebrates it. My hope is that the latter days are far more numerous than the former.
To date, the year of the Carl has been more spiritual than anticipated. The winter brought a stark sense of economy of movement while we gathered our resources and figured out the future. But growth happens even when it is under the stillness of a frozen veneer.
Now that it is Spring, the ice is melting and the direction of that growth is apparent. White turns to green. Roots firmly fixed sprout towards the sky. And the future is now more focused...and obvious.
One of the questions before me has been what to do with this blog. My blogging almost ceased for nearly a year, with rare postings followed by weeks, if not months, of silence. The purpose I have for this blog is to share Carl's wisdom with the world, especially that which he is too modest to post himself. For now, I have decided (with Carl's input) to archive my favorite Carlisms here.
He is a very quotable guy!
